Minimalist Backyard Garden DesignIf you have a house with a modern minimalist exterior and interior, you can add it with a similar style garden. In addition to looking fresh, the minimalist garden can be suitable with the design of the house.

Unfortunately, the process of making something that looks simple, such as a minimalist garden, is actually complicated and costly. Because of this, just do the following rules on how to make a low cost garden on your own.

First, determine the boundaries. The boundary does not only include making a fence, but also the use of color, materials, and plant. Both are essential. Making a fence around the garden will keep its minimalist image. Use walls, wooden fences, a blend of zinc and wood, or plants for the fence. Meanwhile, in terms of colors and materials, you should use neutral colors. It does not only provide color, but also accentuates the natural colors of various materials.

If you choose to highlight the natural colors of the material, then the material selection is one important step. Choosing too many materials will provide a wide range of colors in the garden. A crowded impression of various colors is not suitable for the minimalist garden. A simple example that is fairly easy to do is combining the green grass, gray cement, and white wall paint for your garden.

Second, choose some plants for your garden. One thing you should remember, do not choose too many types of plants. Choose only three plant species. About the number of each species, adjust it to the size of the garden. You can choose plants of any kind, such as Phormium ‘Platts Black’, Ophiopogon planiscapus ‘nigrescens’, Phyllostachys nigra to bring the black color to your garden; Perovskia ‘Blue Spire’, Santolina chamaecyparissus, Artemesia ‘Powis Castle’ for the color gray; and Euphorbia schillingiiĀ , Euphorbia polychroma, Alchemilla mollis for green color.

Third, to get a minimalist garden does not mean you have to plant everything on the ground. You can plant the plants in pots with different height.

Fourth, provide running water accents to add beauty and freshness to your minimalist garden design. Take advantage of this feature to give a tranquility feel fromĀ the sound of the running water.
