Combining Colors with the Help of Color Wheel

If you want a safe choice, you could combine any color with black and white. However, if you want to bring certain impressions, a color combination with black and white is not enough. You definitely need other colors. Well, to help you make attractive color combinations, you can use the help of a color wheel.

The color wheel is true throughout the world, as well as those used for a variety of interests, such as room or interior design, page ads, web pages, product packaging, and many more. There are six color combinations that people use:

Monochromatic is a combination of a certain color and its gradation. The gradations can be lighter or darker. In the color wheel, the monochromatic colors are in one column , upward or downward .

Analogous colors are colors that are adjacent on the color wheel (either on the left or right) with any color. This combination is often found in nature, such as leaves, trees, fruits, vegetables, and other. Objects with analogous colors will look more harmonious.

Complementary colors are colors that are opposite on the color wheel from each other. Due to the contrary, these colors are contrast and stand out. Complementary colors are usually used for accent.

Triad color or a combination of three colors is the three colors that divide the color wheel into three parts proportionately. The position could be anywhere. This color is best used if you want a balanced full- color design. The examples is the combination of red , blue , and yellow , or violet , orange , and green .

Split complementary
Split complementary is a color and a complementary color of the color analogue. The analog color can be on the left side or the right side. This will result in the use of color contrast level which is high enough, but not as extreme as the real complementary combination. This color will produce harmony better than the use of direct complementary. The example is the combination of  red-green-blue-yellow green.

Complex is a blend of color outside of the five kinds of ways as mentioned above. This blend is more custom or according to taste. In terms of quantity, colors that can be used are more than three and the pattern is flexible.
