Here we summarize some important information about the shape and location of stairs which go with the rules of home Feng Shui.
Shapes of stairs
Avoid the use of spiral staircase as it will make the Qi energy become unstable. It is due to the stair shape which looks like a whirl wind that continues to spin.
For stairs that are located outside the room, it is better to use a cover on it to avoid slippery. It’s definitely dangerous when you are walking on slippery stairs.
The last thing you need to consider is the number of steps. The recommended number of steps is odd numbers like 11, 17 and 21. However if it is not possible, you can use the even numbers like 6, 12, 16 or 22.
Locations of stairs
For the best Feng Shui effect, you should avoid placing the stairs in the middle of the house or near / face the exit door. This is because those areas are the heart of the house. Qi energy at the heart of the house will be distracted if you build the stairs on the former locations.
The location of the stairs should also not be a straight line or near the main door because the incoming Qi energy will then come out of the house through the stairs for nothing. So, you can put the staircase in areas that are not mentioned.
The use of the area under the stairs as a workspace is also not recommended because it will press the Qi energy to yourself. If you want to take advantage of this space, you still can use it as a toilet or storage space.
