Taipei 101 or Taipei World Financial Center is a landmark skyscraper consisting of 101 floors above the ground and 5 floors below ground. It is located in the district of Xinyi, Taipei, Taiwan. Taipei 101 height (1671 ft /509 m) holds the second tallest building on the world after Burj Khalifa in Dubai and the tallest building in Asia (excluding the Middle East). It has attracted many tourists’ attention through its wonderful appearance and facilities. What’s inside this building anyway? There are retail facilities on Levels 1-4; a fitness center on Level 5-6; offices on Level 7-84; restaurants on Levels 86-88; observation decks on Levels 89, 91, and 101; and communication facilities on Levels 92-100.

On the 87th floor, a 900-ton tuned mass damper is installed to counter earthquakes and typhoons and to help stabilize the tower. Taipei 101 damper can reduce the tower’s movements up to 40%.

Taipei 101 building has 61 elevators including two double-decker elevators with top speeds of 16.8 m/s. With this speed, observation deck visitors can whiz from level B1 to 89 in just 39 seconds. Each of Taipei 101 elevator is designed with an aerodynamic body, pressurization and emergency braking systems.
