Opened in September 2005, The Morton Arboretum’s Children’s Garden promises to be one of the nation’s premiere outdoor learning environment and great outbound place for families especially during this summer holidays. This garden was design for children and families so that they can learn about nature and playing around the plants, the Children’s Garden advances the Arboretum’s mission of helping people to learn about tress and the important place they have in our world. In the Backyard Discovery Garden, visitors are able to study the roots, stems,leaves, flowers, seeds, and fruits through interactive exhibits, including larger than life models that kids can crawl through and explore. The extensive landscape showcase a wide range of materials, from common plants to unusual and contorted specimens.
