What makes us like a certain place than another place? What makes us interested in a product compared to another product? The answer would be the color. Colors indeed have big impacts to one’s psychology.
If you are an emotional person, choose colors which can reflect your mood. Sharp and contrast colors such as red or orange will provide energy and cheer your day. Calming and cool colors like green and blue will make you feel relaxed and calm. For a more formal atmosphere you can choose contrast colors like dark brown, the combination of black and gray, and also silver.
You can also determine the color of your walls by adapting from artworks, rugs, plates, accessories, or furniture as the main color or as the accent color. When choosing the color, consider the mood and function of the room. Determine whether you want a peaceful, calming, dramatic, or intimate atmosphere within your bedroom. Soft, cold, and neutral colors usually bring a soothing feel, while strong colors provide a dramatic feel. For a dining room, you can use warm, contrast, and fairly light colors will create a friendly atmosphere within the room. Meanwhile, blue or green and neutral colors make the room feel more formal.
For kids’ bedrooms, you should not provide excessive stimulation by using too bright colors. Some bright colors can lead to feelings of anxiety and irritability. White, light blue, green or pink will add a positive impression of the children.
The most important thing in the selection of paint colors is to adjust the colors to the lighting type used in the interior. Daylight from the window will reflect the natural color. Incandescent bulbs put out warm and yellowish colors. Meanwhile, the neon lights create shades of dark blue. Now adjust the color according to your imagination and your mood.
Because you decide to choose the color, take into account how the colors flow from one room to another and the color wheel as well. A small circulation color is the right way to modify and affirm two or more colors. For example, red and green are complementary (opposite) color, which would be better when used together.
You would be surprised how much more beautiful color combination when used together boldly. And, you might even be interested in the color palette and an entirely new idea emerging from your brave try.
